Gemona and Venzone
Both villages were completely destroyed by the earthquake in 1976, when also thousands of people died. Thanks to an attentive reconstruction they have now regained their beauty.
In Gemona you can admire the city hall with the loggia ad the cathedral, symbol of Friuli's rebirth after the terrible disaster.
Venzone is a small medieval village provided with a boundary wall, with very interesting gothic buildings and, near the Duomo, a chapel where you can still see some mummies.
