Marano

Extraordinary territory between the land and the sea, the lagoon of Marano is, and that of Grado, the most northern Adriatic lagoon area. A wonderful basin of brackish water, located between the Friulian plain and the Adriatic Sea, formed in the last millennium following the slow but continuous sea rise and the significant fluvial deposits.

Splendid nymph biological energies this incredible and delicate wetland is also well recognized as one of the most important and valuable natural areas of the Mediterranean. One of the most peculiar and distinctive of the entire lagoon area, by the significant natural value, is the regional nature reserve Foci dello Stella, area already known as an oasis of Marano lagoon (park managed in collaboration with the WWF). 

Naturalists, Bird-Watchers, simple curious and tourists who wish to immerse themselves without the hassle of long walks and exhausted stalking the wonderful world of the swamp and its incredible biological riches, they will find the ideal solution in the natural reserve of the Valle Canal Nuovo, Centre for interpretation, education and environmental heritage of the lagoon.
